Hostess with the mostess

Today was another awesome sunshiney day. I decided to stay inside though because yesterdays volunteering left me more sunburned than I was before. It was a fun time spending the day outside and helping promote the cultural center my friend is a board member for. They were trying to reach 1000 likes on Facebook. There were a lot of interesting things to see. People in costumes, clowns, horses with cowboys and lassos. There was even a booth for smoothies except the blender was rigged up to a bicycle and the faster you pedaled, the faster it blended. All of this was held at an elementary school in the town of Cornelius. The Washington county police were there too taking pictures and letting the kids sit in the police car. I couldn't help but take a picture ;)

After being completely wiped out from that, I came home to throw together a last minute UFC gathering. I ordered the fight on Xbox live. About 7 people came, it was fun. Even after spending about an hour running around the house cleaning it up before anyone arrived. Then we had some fresh, caught that day clams to cook up. We made new England clam chowder. It turned out OK but it was pretty thick with all the potatoes. We added some spicy pickles that made it unique but yummy.
